Welcome to Modern Design Materials, I’m Kristin.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked as a designer, mentor, and trusted professional within the New England design community. Today, I continue that journey as an Independent Representative for design brands you know and love, and a few you may be discovering for the first time.

These brands represent a wide range of products and materials suitable for workplace, hospitality, retail, education and even residential projects. My goal is to be an extension of your design team, as a knowledgeable and responsive resource you can rely on throughout the design process.

Designers trust that I will be honest about my product offerings and capabilities. As an NCIDQ-certified designer myself, I know how important this approach is. I’m happy to help with questions about fire code compliance, environmental considerations, budgets, and lead time. Share your design inspiration, client presentations, renderings, or photos of existing finishes, knowing your information will always be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Hi, I’m Allison.

For more than 18 years, I've worked as a commercial interior designer at several Boston-area architecture and design firms. While my primary focus has been workplace design, my experience spans a broad range of project types, including higher eduction, R&D, and laboratory environments.

I am excited to be “on the other side of the table”, serving as a resource for designers and architects seeking high-quality products and materials that support their project needs. I understand what it takes to navigate a project from concept to design development, construction, and beyond. With years of proficiency as a designer, I’ve walked in your shoes and understand the full process, from ordering samples, to comparing pricing, and presenting ideas to clients.
